Chinese New Year is a holiday that celebrates the beginning of a New Year according to the Lunar Calendar and is often called the Lunar New Year.  It is considered to be one of the most important holidays for Chinese families. Chinese New Year is never on the same day each year, but typically falls somewhere between January 21st and February 20th.  Typically at these events the crowd is in excess of 50,000 and generate a large amount of waste.  Our role at these events is to service the Street, keeping it free of litter, assisting with the food stalls waste and recycling, sweeping up the fire crackers, red envelopes, emptying all the bins and recycling the plastic, cardboard, aluminium and glass.  We enjoy servicing community events and understand the importance they play to the State and Communities with which they operate.

"The best NYE Party in town" and the Douglas Site Services team is there.  Douglas Site Services is responsible for the cleaning and upkeep of the public space sites and deploys over 60 team members to assist in bin and skip placement, litter picking, waste removal, recycling of all waste during and post event and reinstating the parks ready for public use within 6 hours of NYE crowds dissipating.

Big Day Out is a yearly summer event that attracts over 40,000 people. It travels across Australia to Melbourne, Sydney, Gold Coast, Perth and Adelaide.  Douglas Site Services has been fortunate enough to be involved with the Big Day Out for four years now and in this time have been responsible for bathroom care.  Big Day Out is a fantastic event with over 400 toilets to service.   Our staff work hard to keep the toilets fresh, clean and well stocked so everyone can have fun and enjoy a clean seat when they need to.
